The work of the Charity continues to develop with the needs of the community in Las Lomas. Our work is more permanent and sustainable now, following four productive years working in the area.
The opening of the small therapy centre is the most obvious development to reflect this. The centre opened on Sunday, June 1st. It is used by children with physical disabilities, speech disabilities and psychological needs. It is a Therapy Centre for all kinds of needs, physical and psychological; it will be allowed to develop to meet the needs of the community.
We have also completed another stage in the construction of the Family Support Centre for The Juan Pablo Vecinel community. The dining room and Kindergarden are now up and running.
Work is also progressing on the Family Support Centre for The Los Angeles de Carabayllo Community; we expect this to be completed during the September to December trip.
We have progressed the Community centre / Education centre for the Nuve Jerusalem community, this centre will be used for education and training in the community and as a community centre in the evenings with activities for young people.
We have completed the foundations for the Family Support Centre, for the Club de Madre in San Benito. We are now awaiting funding to progress this project.
We have also provided the material for the construction of 8 houses for very poor families, which include one with funding generously donated by MOSTON CONSTRUCTION.
We continue to provide food for 20 very poor families. The cost of this was €400 per month, it will now cost €600 because of the increase in the cost of basic food such as rice and corn.
Little Daniel received medical attention for a serious eye problem, and lots of other children received medical help for more minor problems including glasses for Edwardo.
